Palm Springs International Film Festival

The Palm Springs International Film Society, a nonprofit cultivating and promoting the art and science of film, welcomes film makers and aficionados to various theaters around the Coachella Valley to celebrate the best of world cinema. Originally, Sonny Bono helped create the event to extend the tourist season in Palm Springs, which was cut short due to the summer heat. Now, in its third decade, the Palm Springs International Film Festival brings people from around the world to watch celebrated films and witness the art of cinema. A star-studded red carpet event with A-list celebrity appearances precedes the prestigious film awards, which bestows great honor to the featured films.
