What do you do at NBC Palm Springs and when can people tune in?

I anchor the morning news on NBC Palm Springs from 6 to 7 a.m., then head out to report on stories throughout the day. I started my career in news over 30 years ago, eventually transitioning to sports  with NFL Network and Fox Sports. Now that I’m back in news, I’ve rediscovered how much I love telling meaningful stories that make a difference and serve our community.

How does this place inform your work?

This place reminds me to slow down, listen carefully, and lead with empathy. It shapes not just how I report the news, but why I do it — to make a real impact, right here at home.

What do you love most about desert life?

The sunsets never get old, the mountains are grounding, and the simplicity of desert life reminds me to slow down and be present. Plus, cruising around on my Vespa on warm nights is my favorite — there’s nothing like that feeling of freedom under the desert sky.

When people come to Palm Desert, what do you recommend they visit?

I always recommend El Paseo. It’s the Rodeo Drive of the desert and one of the most beautiful, walkable streets in California. You can easily spend an afternoon strolling the palm-lined avenue, exploring boutiques, and relaxing at cafés. Some of my favorite stops: La Provence for breakfast, The Wine & Cheese Shop for lunch, Porta Via for dinner, and La Dolce Piccola for dessert. For shopping, I love browsing Blonde, Josie’s, and House of Lolo. And of course, a visit isn’t complete without a trip to The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens — a true local gem! I also love that Palm Desert is home to the McCallum Theatre, where I can catch Broadway shows and live performances without leaving town.
