Desert Dream to Silver Screen: The Story of the Historic Palm Springs Plaza Theatre made its debut Sunday, Dec. 21, with a meet-and-greet book signing at Destination PSP in Palm Springs. Produced in collaboration with Palm Springs Life, the book traces the Plaza Theatre’s story from its 1936 opening through its anticipated December 2025 reopening, reaffirming its place as a cultural touchstone in the city.

Authors Jim Cook and Catherine Graham greeted guests and signed copies while sharing behind-the-scenes insights from their research. The book explores the theater’s most notable chapters, including its early film premieres, the era of the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies, and the recently completed restoration.

Against the backdrop of Destination PSP’s selection of midcentury-inspired home goods and graphic tees, the evening buzzed with excitement as guests mingled over drinks and hors d’oeuvres and chatted with the authors. Scott Palermo and James Sanak of Harcourts Desert Homes sponsored the event.
