More than a decade after opening, one of the Coachella Valley’s most distinguished resorts has unveiled a major multiyear remastering that’s touched on everything from guest rooms to the lobby and restaurants. “The entire look and feel is much brighter,” says Shannon Gilbert, general manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. “We have incorporated lighter tones, desert hues, and natural elements of the landscape.”
The final phase of the refresh focused on all-day seasonal restaurant State Fare Bar & Kitchen. Its wraparound terrace, indoor-outdoor bar, firepits that light up at dusk, and evening entertainment continue to draw diners. And so does the vibrant menu, with selectively sourced local produce that changes throughout the year. Frequent guests will be glad to know that staples like the uber-popular prime burger, Skuna Bay salmon, and chickpea date salad remain on the menu. As part of the relaunch, the kitchen, led by executive chef Bruno Lopez, will introduce house-made pasta.

At The Edge Steakhouse — celebrated for hand-cut prime steaks aged in-house for a minimum of 45 days, as well as stunning views — guests will find an inviting outdoor dining area for seating under the stars.
The resort has expanded its suite collection with accommodations designed to offer enhanced comfort and generous space. Embracing its identity as a destination “where the desert meets the stars,” the resort invites guests to enjoy nightly stargazing. “We are just a mile up Frank Sinatra Drive,” Gilbert says, “but it feels like a world away.”
