“Wow, this is such a beautiful and sophisticated event,” Miley Cyrus said from the stage Saturday night at the Palm Springs International Film Awards, where she received the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her song “Dream As One” (Avatar: Fire and Ash).
“It is truly the most elegant Palm Springs party that I have ever been to,” she continued, with a knowing smile. “There are fewer drag queens than I like, but I’ll be stopping by Toucans on my way back to L.A. to get my fix, OK?”
Cyrus and the rest of Hollywood kicked off the 2026 awards season in high style at the 37th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. The Film Awards Gala, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center and sponsored by Kering, Cadillac, and Entertainment Tonight, featured a guest list that caused many a fan’s heart to flutter. After a catered dinner and the awards presentation, festivities continued at the official after-party at Parker Palm Springs, where congratulations carried well into the night.
Palm Springs International Film Festival continues with screenings and other programming through Jan. 12. This year’s lineup features 170 films from 72 countries and territories, including 53 premieres. The Palm Springs International Film Festival launched in January 1990, spearheaded by then Mayor Sonny Bono, and is produced by the Palm Springs International Film Society.
