The Agua Caliente Cultural Museum<\/a> at the Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza<\/a> welcomes visitors to learn about the first residents of the Palm Springs area \u2014 the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza provides an incredible opportunity for us to share and celebrate our history, culture, and traditions with this community and visitors from around the world,\u201d Tribal Chairman Reid D. Milanovich says. \u201cWhen we share our culture, it helps preserve our culture.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the galleries, exhibits highlight important milestones in the Tribe\u2019s history, from creation and migration to self-determination. Some include immersive sensory features, such as benches that echo thunderstorms.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the first tribal museum designated a Smithsonian Affiliate, and in partnership with the Smithsonian\u2019s National Museum of the American Indian, the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum also nurtures cultural exchange and engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Museum Store showcases masterfully handcrafted items by Agua Caliente Tribal Members and Native American artists, artisans, and businesses from around the country. Museum admission is not required to visit the Museum Store, which is open during regular museum hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays through Sundays and closed on Mondays.<\/p>\n
