If \u201cwellness resort\u201d means a dedicated retreat for healing and restoration, though, Two Bunch Palms is older than that \u2014 way older. The local Cahuilla tribe began utilizing the area\u2019s mineral-rich hot spring centuries ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe\u2019re right on the San Andreas fault line,\u201d says Danny Min, the resort\u2019s director of operations. A hot water well north of the property hovers at a natural temperature of more than 100 degrees. Later, of course, he returned to California under very <\/span><span class=\"s2\">different circumstances \u2014 as a prisoner at Alcatraz.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These days, the resort is as well known for its sustainability initiatives as it is for its mob and Hollywood ties.
