The Bear Creek Oasis Trail in La Quinta offers a rewarding 9-mile hike through desert landscapes, ending at a serene palm oasis. The trail begins with an easy mile along Bear Creek wash before climbing into the Santa Rosa foothills, where hikers are treated to sweeping views of the Coachella Valley, San Jacinto, San Gorgonio, and the Salton Sea. With a challenging 2,540-foot elevation gain, this trail promises solitude and stunning scenery.
It’s important to note that Bear Creek Oasis Trail is not the same as the paved Bear Creek Nature Trail — they are separate routes. To start your adventure, park at the furthest trailhead near Bear Creek Canyon. Note: Dogs are not allowed.
