The Indian Canyons Golf Resort, located on the ancestral land of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, features two golf courses, North and South, each with a distinct personality and history.
More than 500 native California fan palms (Washingtonia filifera), sacred to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, punctuate the South Course.
The San Jacinto Mountains surround three sides of the courses, providing stunning mountain views. Individual clubhouses, stocked with professional gear, accompany both courses.
The clubhouse on the South Course welcomes players to linger after a round of golf.
The historic North Course, designed by William F. Bell, was the first 18-hole golf course in Palm Springs, opened in 1961 as the Canyon Country Club. Its partnership with the famous Racquet Club charmed the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Dean Martin, and other luminaries, attracting high-profile members such as Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Ronald Reagan. Walt Disney, who owned properties along the second hole, gifted a copper fountain to the club upon its opening. Water still flows through the lotus-shaped feature between holes 9 and 18.
The shorter but stunningly scenic South Course, remodeled in 2004 by architect Casey O’Callahan with LPGA legend Amy Alcott, provides an entirely different experience and has been praised for its four lakes and five par-5 holes.
Book your tee time to play a round on the sacred land of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and experience the beauty, history, and charm that captivated so many beloved Palm Springs celebrities.
