Phoebe and Drew’s big day was more than a ceremonial tying of the knot. It was a celebration steeped in family history and intimate moments, beginning with the selection of the 29 Palms Inn as their venue.
Phoebe’s great-great-grandfather purchased the inn in 1929 and passed it down through the family. The sun-drenched oasis has served as the backdrop for some of the most cherished memories throughout her life and was the natural choice to set the stage for the couple’s next chapter together. “Because of the neutral and natural backdrop of the desert, we weren’t afraid to go big with color,” Phoebe shares of the vibrant garden party vibe.
Their love story — sparked while they were both athletes at the University of California, Santa Barbara — was a slow burn of stolen glances across the weight room followed by years of shared adventure. That spirit of playfulness infused their wedding weekend, from an under-the-stars dance party to a late-night pizza bar, featuring a Hidden Valley Ranch fondue fountain.
“Who needs a cake-cutting when you’re able to stuff each other’s faces with ranch and pepperoni pizza?” Phoebe jokes.
Determined to celebrate with as many loved ones as possible, the couple prioritized an expansive guest list, cutting costs elsewhere to make it happen. Choosing a Friday wedding meant a leisurely Saturday to keep the celebration alive, culminating in a Father of the Bride movie night, complete with a popcorn machine and candy bar.
