The Coachella Valley is rich in culture, diversity, and potential. Yet, like many communities, it faces challenges that require collective action and thoughtful investment. Enter the Inland Empire Community Foundation (IECF), a catalyst for positive change. With a mission to strengthen the region through philanthropy, IECF connects donors like you with impactful organizations on the front lines of ensuring children and families have what they need to live better lives through education, healthcare, civic engagement, housing, and more.
Who We Are and What We Do
IECF serves as a bridge between generous donors and nonprofit organizations working to meet our communities’ most pressing needs. We’re proud that for over 80 years, IECF has been able to award more than $213 million in grants and scholarships in partnership with donors.
IECF makes philanthropy easy, offering a variety of immediate, annual, and legacy giving options to help you find your giving voice and turn your passion into real change.
“As a community foundation, we’ve identified crucial issues that need action in the region, including quality job development, the advancement of justice, creating pathways for our youth, and healing our communities.”

Founding Chair, Fund for a Creative IE
For many donors, the question isn’t whether to give, but how to give wisely. With countless organizations vying for attention, it can be challenging to determine where to direct philanthropic efforts. This is where IECF shines.
By facilitating collaboration among nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses, IECF helps unify our communities’ approach to development. In turn, we’re well positioned to steer individuals, families, and businesses to the nonprofit organizations that align with their priorities, whether they want to provide educational scholarships or support health and human services, resources for children and families, environmental conservation and preservation, arts and culture, or any other cause of interest.

How (and What) to Give
IECF has a range of philanthropic tools to help you establish your own endowed, donor advised, field of interest, and/or scholarship fund. Or if you want to help your community without having to conduct extensive and constant research into nonprofit organizations, you can contribute to a variety of existing funds, such as the Build Coachella Valley Fund.
Gifts can take many forms. IECF accepts a wide array of assets as contributions to a fund, including cash, stocks and bonds, real estate, insurance, and retirement assets. IECF is happy to explore donations of other complex gifts as well.
“IECF has an incredible history of over 80 years, a wonderful, dedicated staff, and a strong board. I’m focused on what the organization looks like in the next 80 years. We need to increase our asset base so we can invest more in the region and attract more investment — philanthropic and business — to the Inland Empire.”

Transparency and accountability are at the core of IECF’s mission. Donors receive regular updates on the outcomes of their contributions, ensuring they can see the tangible results of their generosity. This feedback loop builds trust and inspires continued giving.
