40 Under 40: 2025 Honoree
Alexis Palomino and Chris Ramirez
Alexis Palomino and Chris Ramirez pulled the rip cord on corporate America and landed in Palm Springs, trading New York offices and tech start-up hustle for desert skies and the chance to reset. What began as a year-long experiment turned into seven years and a flourishing creative brand. “Palm Springs allowed us to take a moment and reflect,” Ramirez says. “There’s so much beauty and magic in the desert — it really allowed us to create.”
Superbloom launched as a hand-painted hat brand and has since grown into a vibrant studio where art, fashion, and camaraderie intersect. Their “Paint With Meaning” experiences invite participants to choose a color tied to one of the brand’s 10 guiding principles and express themselves through splatter painting. “We encourage everyone to have fun,” Palomino stresses. “How often do you get to throw paint? It doesn’t have to be right or wrong. You’re expressing yourself, and there aren’t any rules.” The duo takes these sessions on the road, transforming offices, resorts, and public spaces into pop-up studios, and they’re establishing a new Superbloom space in Ventura.
Beyond the business, Palomino and Ramirez open their doors to emerging artists, collaborate with Visit Greater Palm Springs on tourism initiatives, and auction artwork to support causes from animal welfare to cancer research. They see their work as a way to bring people together. “It’s important that people are seen and heard and understood,” Ramirez says. “Wanting to change the world starts hyperlocal.”
