Josiah Gonzalez

Downtown Indio’s creative scene has grown steadily in recent years, and musician Josiah Gonzalez was one of its early catalysts.

As co-founder of Little Street Music Hall, an all-ages venue that operated from 2022 to 2025, he created a space for local musicians to perform, practice, and grow. “The hope was that we were just one of the rungs on many steps for musicians who want to pick up a guitar for the first time and eventually be able to play for groups of people,” he says.

A lifelong Indio resident, Gonzalez started gigging with his brothers in 2014 and soon saw the need for a venue that could nurture new talent. Opening Little Street was a defining moment, turning a building his parents once visited for milkshakes into a space for music lovers.

He continues to perform with his band, Avenida Music, keeping music at the heart of his work. The community is watching with anticipation for what he builds next.
