40 Under 40: 2025 Honoree

Jake Bachman

Owner and Creative Director, Desert Social Club

When Jake Bachman first came to the desert to attend the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2006, he felt the magic immediately. A few years later, he made the leap to stay and channel his energy into helping small businesses tell their stories. “The design-forward boutique hotels and fun restaurants sparked something in my imagination,” he says.

He went on to launch Desert Social Club, a digital marketing agency that partners with Southern California brands, with an emphasis on hospitality, tourism, and LGBTQ+ businesses.

Bachman and his team put storytelling at the center of everything they create, from social campaigns to event promotions. “We want everything to have a purpose … to send people to do something or inspire them to visit,” he explains. Seeing clients succeed is the best reward. “When an event sells out, or they’re fully booked and tell us, ‘What you’re doing is working,’  it’s incredibly satisfying.”

Bachman, who enjoys giving back by supporting local nonprofits including FIND Food Bank and Palm Springs Animal Shelter, hopes to be remembered as someone who showed up for his community. “I want to be known for standing up when something is not right and being a guiding voice for those who may not have that voice.”
