40 Under 40: 2025 Honoree

Jessica Mediano

Marketing and Public Information Officer, City of Indio

Whether it’s announcing new infrastructure or welcoming thousands to a city-sponsored concert, Jessica Mediano keeps the city of Indio and its residents connected. “The most satisfying thing is when people come to the events and you see the families enjoying themselves,” she says.

As marketing and public information officer, Mediano has worked to evolve the city’s visual identity, earning four Davey Awards for design excellence, and grown its social media following by more than 20,000 in under two years. The efforts have drawn coverage from The Los Angeles Times and other major outlets, spotlighting the city’s growth and signature events, from the Indio BBQ Festival, with record-breaking attendance, to  American Idol winner Abi Carter’s concerts downtown.

Born and raised in Palm Springs, Mediano returned to the valley after college, determined to build her career close to home. She sees her role as a vehicle to strengthen civic pride and foster optimism. “Positivity is something that I push every single day because I think we just need more of  it,” she says. “I’m so excited to wake up every day and do what I do.”
