Musician and fashion designer Keanan Duffty joined emerging designer Ace Harper at The Webster in Palm Springs for a conversation about entrepreneurship in the sartorial world. Moderated by Palm Springs Life editor-in-chief Emily Chavous Foster, the discussion delved into the nuances of launching a brand and designing looks that make the wearer feel fierce in their own skin.
While the tastemakers hail from different backgrounds — Duffty from the British punk scene, now residing in New York, and Harper, a Californian by way of Oklahoma who’s danced professionally with the likes of Britney Spears and Duran Duran — the two aligned over their shared connections to music and Fashion Week El Paseo, where they’ve both shown collections in recent years. The Webster, too, bridges their worlds, as its founder, Laure Hériard Dubreuil, wrote the foreword for Duffty’s book, The Fashion Entrepreneur, and the boutique sells Harper’s line.
