Design business owners behind more than 50 interiors projects at The Thermal Club

At The Thermal Club, three creative forces are shaping the visual language of luxury. Interior designer Candice Coleman, tile artisan Fina Meraz, and cabinetry expert Raychelle Devilla have collaborated for nearly a decade — not as a firm but as a fluid alliance built on taste, trust, and technical mastery. Their synergy is striking: It’s about knowing their craft, learning from each other, and creating spaces as exhilarating as the cars on the track.

For Coleman, who has led more than 50 interiors projects at the club over the past eight years, the opportunity is a privilege and a proving ground. “We’re not doing one home at a time — sometimes it’s seven at once,” she says. “I bring my best vendors, people I can count on.” Her role spans every finish and fixture, but she credits the team’s chemistry for the consistency that keeps them in demand. “We pick up the phone for each other. After all these years, there’s a loyalty and a shorthand that makes the work possible.”

Meraz, who grew Tile Designs by Fina from the trunk of her car into multiple warehouses and a full-service showroom, thrives on that fast pace. “Spec houses are my favorite,” she says. “We can push boundaries — reds and blacks, metal mosaics, 3-D tile walls, checkerboard floors. Custom details no one else will have.” A self-described risk-taker, she brings both foresight and fire. “I know my industry inside and out. I won’t BS you. People trust me because my word is my word.” Beyond the club, she has become a leader in the local design community, rallying contractors, showrooms, and artisans to keep business rooted in the Coachella Valley.

If Meraz is the spark, Devilla is the quiet force grounding the trio. Through her company Burl & Flitch, she has redefined cabinetry and architectural woodworking for countless high-end homes since 2016. At Thermal, the “working kitchens” are designed less for home cooks than for chefs, caterers, and trackside entertaining. “We have big ranges, big fridges, even a ‘Costco room,’” she says, referring to an oversize pantry. “Even with the same walnut, every home looks different depending on the door style. The last layer of beauty comes from the tiles, the stone, the hardware.” An entrepreneur with ventures ranging from Varraco Coffee Roasters to The Bike Shop, Devilla balances determination with humility. “If there’s a setback, we ask ourselves, ‘What’s next to keep moving forward?’”

Together, the women have shaped almost every corner of the club. Whether designing a tile floor that incorporates a company logo or a glowing 20-foot bar, they never repeat themselves. “We’re building designs that blow people’s socks off,” Coleman says.

Their bond has become its own influence. “It’s cool that we’re women,” Coleman reflects. But in an industry often dominated by men, “what matters is that we’re great businesspeople who respect each other and back each other up.”
