Hotel Paseo

Modern living meets cool, curated style at this luxury Palm Desert hotel located adjacent to The Gardens on El Paseo.

The Marriott Autograph Collection property stokes the sort of getaway experience visitors have come to expect of the desert: a resort-like atmosphere that still feels intimate and exclusive, an easy indoor-outdoor flow with a splashy pool scene and pool bar, a spa with elevated massage and facial offerings, and plenty of photo-ops dotting the grounds, including a vintage Airstream trailer and putting green in the backyard area.

Larkspur Grill serves Californian fare that emphasizes locally sourced ingredients alongside hopping live music.

Hotel Paseo has a vibrant pool scene and pool bar.

As if things weren’t already good enough, Hotel Paseo recently underwent a refresh. Guest rooms and specialty suites put comfort first with plush linens and spa-style showers. Most rooms have private balconies overlooking palm trees, the pool, or mountain views. Another premium suite features a billiards table, a record player, and an enviable collection of vinyl.

The vibe here is upscale yet laid-back and family friendly — dogs under 50 pounds are welcome, too.

Marriott’s Shadow Ridge I-The Villages

Overlooking the Shadow Ridge golf course, designed by six-time major champion Nick Faldo, this Marriott Vacation Club resort pairs spacious condo-style villas with access to the amenities at nearby sister property JW Marriott Desert Springs.

Mojave Resort

In 2021, a group of friends set out to revive this 1950s microresort to its former splendor. Originally established as the Gala Villa, the Palm Desert hideaway advertised its reasonable rates, heated pool, and lawn games in the midcentury.

Today, the revived adults-only hotel leans into a citrus-hued mid-mod motif with patterned tilework throughout the lobby and orange umbrellas shading the sparkling new pool. Welcome cocktails are on the house, breakfast boxes are delivered to your door, and your pets get to stay for free.
